No-Cost to Low-Cost Counseling Services for Individuals, Couples, and Families.

ABOUT US

At Urban Restoration Counseling Center, our mission is to disrupt the cycle of intergenerational trauma by transforming how Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities perceive mental health. Every day, our clinicians, staff, and community partners join together as a cohesive unit to improve the mental health of ourselves, our people, and our community.

We provide individual, couples, family, and group therapy, delivering high-quality mental and behavioral health care to disenfranchised communities, normalizing mental health recovery, and fostering lasting change.

Our Programs

THERAPY for ALL

The Therapy for ALL (TFA) program allows URCC to serve historically marginalized communities by providing no-cost/low-cost mental health and case management services. Through TFA, clients gain access to Black, Indigenous, People of color (BIPOC) mental health providers, increase the value placed on mental health, and create an intergenerational legacy of healing for San Diego County's BIPOC residents.

TFA participants must meet at least one of the following requirements: be uninsured or underinsured, undocumented, a student, unable to find a therapist of color through their insurance provider, or have insurance that we don't accept.

RIGHT PROGRAM

URCC's RIGHT Program offers clinical training to BIPOC student clinicians, with a focus on safety, cultural appreciation, and the unique needs of BIPOC communities. Our approach includes training unlicensed BIPOC clinicians, providing business development and hands-on experience, incorporating Reset InterGenerational Healing Training, and partnering with universities such as Touro, Cal State San Marcos, SDSU, Pepperdine, Northwestern, and USD.

Since 2019, the RIGHT Program has provided training to 90 students (71 Master’s level and 19 Bachelor’s level), with 78% of participants identifying as BIPOC. Of the 8 graduates who met their requirements, 5 have applied to become California BBS registered Associate Clinicians.
